The first article to carry a million dollar tag for 2008 on Luxurylaunches is the Ford Mustang Convertible that was sold for $5,500,000 to be precise.

It is whispered to be the first ever Mustang Convertible to roll off the production line and also the first ever Mustang sold for that price tag.

The car carries a build date of March 9, 1964 – the first day that the fabled pony car rolled down the Rouge assembly line.

Furthermore, the car was delivered on the evening of April 16, 1964 – the night before Mustang sales were supposed to begin across the country. Documentation is included that verifies the vehicle’s status.

Ford is preparing for race

The WRC constructor’s title was won by Ford, so this deserves a good celebration with a special car, which can be champion on rallies.

Ford presented a photo that wants to put in work every sporty hatchback lover’s imagination.
The American constructor is preparing the RS version for Focus, much powerful than the ST, made now.

The Focus RS debut will take place next year, and we already know few things about its engine.

It seems that the new race Ford will have a turbo propeller of 2.5 litres from Focus ST, but we expect that the maximum power to be around 280 hp, an important rise (instead of the 225 hp of ST).

The same, the suspension announced will be a strong point for the car, because it will be more rigid and better settled than the previous one, which is very good, too, from ST.

Talking about the design, RS will be a great WRC car, with an impressive front spoiler, airing slips under the hood and probably a sensational aileron.

In case you were wondering, David Hasselhoff is going to return to play the lead role once again.

The 540hp Ford Mustang GT500KR is going to be playing 3 different versions of KITT:
- the driverless version,
- a high-speed combat mode,
- and a standard version of the hero car.

Sounds a little far-fetched, but KITT’s new abilities are granted to it courtesy of nano-technology— allowing it to shift the car’s body color and shape.

Additionally, KITT is equipped with a supercomputer that is capable of any electronic equipment for the purposes of good, we trust.

Ford announced the appearing on the market of the latest edition of Focus, named ST500. This is a special model with higher performances. It cost £20,450 and it will be available only for 500 buyers.

Ford Focus ST500 is based on ST3, but with many new characteristics. All models are finished in black-metallic color and silver capot. Other features: Recaro leather seats, ST500 logos, xenon lights, rain sensors and many others.

It has a 5 cylinder DURATEC engine and 20 valves, which develops 220 hp at 2,100 rpm and 320 Nm at 1,600 rpm. From its first appearance, Focus ST was recognized as one of the most interesting hatchback ever produced.

With selling of over 13,500 pieces, Ford Focus ST is “most wanted” in Great Britain.

Ford presented at Frankfurt Motor Show new SUV Kuga, first model realized of European Division of Ford.

Designers were free to create what they wanted, which you can observe, not only on its daring lines of the body, but also by its frontal design, lights and windows.

Kuga is not a simply SUV and its rivals will be Volkswagen Tiguan, Nissan Qashquai, and other “beasts” from its category.

The model, presented at Frankfurt Motor Show has a turbodiesel Ford PSA engine, with 136 hp, but the base propeller will be, probably weaker. We have to wait and to see.

Ford Mondeo maximum security

New Ford Mondeo obtained 5 stars on security test, done by EuroNCAP.
EuroNCAP test shows that the car is doing very well in case of front impact. Security cell stays stabile and the safety bells and airbags works efficient and prevent the contact with the board. Driver’s knees are very well protected by the airbag, which is mounted in the inferior part of the direction motorcade.
At this test, made at 64 km/h, Mondeo obtained 15 points of 16 possible.
The lateral impact and the pylon impact went very good for Mondeo, which obtained the maximum points, 18.

The 15 points obtained at frontal impact test, with 18 points obtained at the lateral impact test, plus 2 more bonus points permitted Mondeo to be accredited with 5 safety stars, with a total of 35 points.

The kids are also well protected by car, on this test Mondeo getting 4 stars from 5 possible.
Talking about pedestrian’s protection, Mondeo obtained 2 stars from 4 possible, EuroNCAP officials telling that the front spoiler is “friendly” with pedestrians, but the place where an adult head can be heated don’t offer any protection.
